Chef Becca HA HA HA

Okay, I tried cooking again. Let's just say the final line of this little episode was my mom on the phone saying, "Try again. Well, not today, but..."

What I've learned:

  • The battery on my smoke detector is functioning.

  • It's really cold airing out a house when it's -20 F.

  • Omelets can burn very, very quickly.

  • My career at Perkins is on hold.

  • Salad and pasta make a nice lunch.

Here's a picture for posterity:

Oh Becca, I'm so sorry about your omelet. Our Rob has been doing a lot of cooking lately, and likes to experiment...he's always trying to make spaghetti sauce in a very "italian" way, and on Tuesday when he was off of work for the day, he made the MOST delicious sauce he has ever made ....it had no meat in it and I didn't even mind that it didn't. Sometimes when he cooks he burns things, and we have to air out the kitchen too, but not this week!

I agree with your Mother...keep trying... you'll eventually find things that you can make well!

Mmmmm...tasty. I remember my first attempt at homemade macaroni and cheese. I accidentally used powdered sugar in place of flour.

Keep trying, it eventually gets easier. At this point, my dinners are edible about 90 percent of the time.
