Lists

I've decided to keep a list of all the movies and books that I consume over the summer. The movies are in two categories: Theater and video. Wanna hear the list so far?

Movies (theater)
The Break-Up
XMen 3
The Lake House
A Prairie Home Companion

Movies (Video)
Shall We Dance
The Family Stone
Casanova

Books
Knocking Over the Fishbowl by David Oppegaard (yet to be published)
Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs
Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith by Anne Lamott

Not bad for three and a half weeks of vacation. The Movie of the Day is A Prairie Home Companion. It was super funny and just heart-warming. I really liked the way Guy Noir spoke and was fascinated by how slowly Dangerous Woman walked. She was cool. If you have any ties to Minnesota or Garrison Keillor, watch this movie.

We saw this on Fri night. It made me remember growing up in MN so so SO MUCH!
I am pretty sure that there are things people not from MN can't appreciate about this.

Watched some of the GK special from Tanglewood on PBS last night then.... fun to see tht a lot of the real people from the show were in the movie.

I watched some of that on PBS too and had the same reaction about the regulars. The make-up lady. The singers. The piano player. The set. Crazy!

Don't forget to add "Superman Returns" to the movies you want to see this summer!

We loved PHC. Be sure to see "An Inconvenient Truth"--Al Gore's movie about global warming. It is excellent and he is funny.
