Hey Becca, I comment on your blog... how about a comment or two on mine...? no one has commented on mine for a while either! About middle names: My middle name...it is ROMAINE...after my Mother. An interesting thing about middle names, years ago they used to use the mother's maiden name as the middle name, so my Dad's middle name was his mothers maiden name, MASEMER. How about that! Also, ELIZABETH is my mother's, my sister's, my daughter's AND my granddaughter's middle name (or is it names) They are all named after my wonderful maternal GRANDMOTHER, ELIZABETH Wiley Livingston.
I wish I could have gone to the seminar that you went to tonight, but after this long week of work, I knew I'd be exhausted. And, I am...it will be early to bed for me tonight! - L
I have two middle names- Colleen Patricia- it is a tradition on my maternal grandfather's side to have two middle names, the second one being after a relative. Patricia is my great-aunt.
I found you via Blogagaard. Have seen you post on there. Did not want you to cry! :-)
Thank you for commenting!!! Linda, I have to plan when to read your blog because I always end up crying over something sweet that you've written. You're behind on your writing, I'm behind on my reading!
I would hate to harm your psyche! My maiden name was Oftedahl --wouldn't that have made a dandy middle name for Ray?--so my parents felt I should have an easy first name. Hence Lois. Being born on St. Patrick's Day I was given the middle name Patricia. My maternal grandmother started calling me Patsy because I had a second cousin named Lois. Mama thought she was brat. My parents and other family called me Patsy forever. Not too many folks left now who still do. I have been Lois since 5th grade when I changed schools.
So, no one has asked for my middle name. Do you already know it?
It's the most boring of all middle names for a 30-something: Lynn. We used to have a club in 4th grade consisting only of people with the middle name Lynn. Did you know you can create an entire column of cursive L's?
Zane's middle name is Andres Philippe, his given birth names (Philippe's spelling was changed so his initials would be ZAP Coyle, which Kelly said was important.) I found a piece of paper recently I wrote when I was 18 saying I wanted to adopt a boy and I wanted a son name Andre.
Theo has my last name for his middle name. Not lovely, but I thought someone should have it.
Michelle is my name. My mom wanted to girls one named Tracey and one named Michelle. After I was born, she was worried she wouldn't have another girl (as she was convinced I was a boy before I was born - which explains why I had a baby's room of dogs and frogs) so she gave me both names. Of course I have one sibling and her name is Anige. Crazy how fate works.

P S... I'm too tired to write on
my blog tonight. I'll make up for it tomorrow.

Hi, Shannon! Nice to "meet" you.
My middle name is Rock-N-Roll.
Dave, how do you fit that on legal documents. Maybe your folks were going for "Most Letters in a Name"?
I'm glad to see that I am not the only person with a middle name longer than my first. I do miss Grandma Sly calling me "Sara Rachel"...
I have a rubber stamp I use to save time.
That'll be helpful with all of your book signings.
Josephine--Yes, really. My full maiden name had 26 letters in it--Catharine Josephine Knudtson. It wouldn't have done well for book signings.
It was fun being at the workshop today with you. Now how can it bear fruit?
Catharine

Lois, Should we start calling you Patsy?

Marie, like every other girl born in 1965.
